The process of digitization currently underway has become the central development in society, businesses, and technology. Smart services provided via mobile applications not just represent technological innovation, but have changed the way humans work and live. While digitization can be seen as a result of other developments, it is at the same time an enabler of these developments.
The »Industrial Data Space« is a virtual data space using standards and common governance models to facilitate the secure exchange and easy linkage of data in business ecosystems. It thereby provides a basis for creating and using smart services and innovative business processes, while at the same time ensuring digital sovereignty of data owners.
The lecture starts by presenting the security extension UMLsec of the Unified Modeling Language, which has been defined for developing security-critical software. It then explains how to use the approach and its associated security assurance tools to support performing a security certification in the context of the Industrial Data Space.
